Apr 04, 202530 Ways to Spring into Action this April
A Month of Movement, Momentum, and Techniques for Lasting Change
April invites movement—both in nature and in ourselves. It’s a time to stop overthinking and start doing. Whether it’s taking small steps toward your goals, having brave conversations, or shaking off what no longer serves you, this month is about reconnecting with your power through intentional action.
Join us for 30 days of inspired momentum. You can follow the calendar we’ve created or mix and match ideas to create your own path. Just keep moving forward.
Week 1: April 1 - 5
This week, we notice where we are and start taking small steps forward.
Theme: Start Where You Are
Affirmation: Small steps still move me forward.
“Action is the foundational key to all success.”
~Pablo Picasso
31. Monday: Choose One Area of Focus. Action doesn’t have to start big—it just needs a direction. Choose one area of your life where you’d like to create a bit more momentum or clarity this week. Take note of where you currently are, and where you want to be in that area. Below are a few categories to consider: physical well-being, emotional health, relationships, environment, creativity or growth.
1. Tuesday: Acknowledge the Barriers. Often it’s not lack of motivation, but inner resistance that holds us back. What fears or beliefs might be keeping you stuck? Write them down. Naming them helps strip away their power.
2. Wednesday: Take a Physical Step. Physical movement helps get mental energy flowing and helps release endorphins, which increase feelings of happiness and well-being. Go for a walk, jog, or run today and focus on how you feel before and after.
3. Thursday: Create an Hour of Intentional Space. Set aside one hour today with no multitasking and no screens. Use the time to act on something you've been avoiding—start a task, prep a meal, write something down. Notice how a little uninterrupted space can shift your momentum.
4. Friday: Start the Day with a New Habit. What’s one thing that might make your day begin with more peace, clarity, or momentum? It could be a short morning meditation, setting 5 minutes aside for stretching, or having extra time to make a more complete breakfast.
5. Saturday: Name Your Progress. Look back at your week. What did you follow through on? What got clearer? What shifted, even subtly? Write it down or share it with someone. Progress doesn’t need to be loud to be meaningful.
Week 2: April 6 - 12
Our intuition provides guidance for our choices as we move forward this week.
Theme: Trust Your Intuition
Affirmation: I open up to new possibilities. I trust myself.
“Do what you can with what you have.”
~Arthur Ashe
6. Sunday: Take Inventory. Before you start cleaning, take stock. Where are you feeling the most overwhelmed or mentally cluttered right now–your space, your calendar, your thoughts? Make a quick list, no need to try to change or resolve it right now–just name it.
7. Monday: Start with One Physical Space. Choose one area of your home or workspace to tidy or reset today. A drawer, your nightstand, the kitchen counter. Focus on what you can clear, not what needs to be perfect. What might your space look like to promote your ideal functioning?
8. Tuesday: Clear Mental Clutter. Write down everything that’s bouncing around in your mind: tasks, worries, unfinished to-do’s. Get it all out on paper, no organizing required. Then pick one item to take action on.
9. Wednesday: Unsubscribe from Noise. Take 15 minutes today to unsubscribe from emails you no longer want, unfollow social media accounts that do not serve you or that drain you, and delete apps that steal your time. Digital clutter matters and can have an impact on you mentally.
9. Thursday: Say No Gently. Practice clearing space in your schedule by saying no to something that doesn’t align with your energy this week. Your time and energy are valuable, and not all plans serve you.
10. Friday: Notice What You Avoid. What task, truth, or conversation are you avoiding that might be taking up mental space in the background? Gently bring it into the light. Even just naming it is a form of release.
11. Saturday: Engage in a Breathing Meditation. Today, take a few minutes to sit and focus on nothing but the rhythm of your breath. Notice the way it feels when you inhale and exhale. Allow outside sounds to come and go as they please.
Week 3: April 13 - 19
Theme: Honor Your Growth
Affirmation: I tend to the garden of my dreams. I take inspired action.
“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”
~Robert Louis Stevenson
13. Sunday: Write a “No More” List. Make a list of three things you’re no longer available for–specific habits, patterns, relationships, or behaviors that drain your energy. This is an act of self-protection and power. They can be small; for example, no more saying sorry for things out of your control.
14. Monday: Take Up Space. Do something today that helps you feel expansive. Speak up in a meeting. Wear something bold. Post the picture you’ve been unsure of. Carry yourself confidently. You don’t have to shrink to be accepted–you deserve to take up space.
15. Tuesday: Move Through Discomfort (on Purpose). Do something today that is physically or emotionally uncomfortable but safe–cold shower, expressive dance, or sitting with an uncomfortable feeling. Let yourself notice that discomfort isn’t dangerous, and you can move through it.
16. Wednesday: Courage Check-In. Set a 10-minute timer and journal about this prompt: “Where have I been braver than I realized?” Reflect on a time in your life where you were brave, as well as small or subtle ways you’ve already acted with courage this month, even if no one else saw.
17. Thursday: Say or Write a Hard Truth. Tell the truth somewhere today, whether that be in a text, on a page, or in a mirror. Maybe it’s “I’m scared,” “I’m feeling…,” or “An issue I have is …” We often avoid explicitly stating hard truths. Naming them is the first step towards change and takes power away from them.
18. Friday: Journal Freely. Today is Good Friday—a moment of reflection and tenderness in many traditions. Today, write entirely freely. Wherever your mind wanders, write down. Write without editing, or without any expectation. Notice how you feel before and after doing this exercise.
19. Saturday: Try A Food Out of Your Comfort Zone. Doing small things that slightly push you can make you feel more confident in your ability to have courage in doing the harder things. Today, take that small step and try a different snack, drink, or food. Even if you don’t like it, remind yourself that you are able to do uncomfortable things.
Week 4: April 20 - 26
Theme: Shore Up Your Foundation
Affirmation: I build a solid foundation for my life. I improve the quality of my wellbeing.
“A tree has roots in the soil yet reaches to the sky. It tells us that in order to aspire, we must be grounded, and that no matter how high we go, it is from our roots that we draw sustenance.”
~Wangari Maathai
20. Sunday: Practice Self-Forgiveness. Easter invites us to begin again—and that begins with letting go of what no longer serves you, including the weight of self-blame. Today, spend some time reflecting. What mistake, regret, or moment of “not enough” have you been carrying? Offer yourself compassion. You are allowed to change. You are allowed to begin again. Forgiveness is not about forgetting—it’s about releasing your grip on shame so you can move forward.
21. Monday: Recommit to One Action. Choose at least one thing from this month that you want to carry with you into your routine or daily life. This could be something you want to continue not doing from your ‘no more’ list, a habit you’ve been trying to form, or a technique that has helped you mentally–like physically moving your body, engaging in meditative breathing, or having time set for intentionality. Choose something that will be sustainable for you to keep up with.
22. Tuesday: Spend Time in Nature for Earth Day! Spend some time outdoors celebrating our planet. Use this time as decompression or mindfulness time. Focus on the sounds around you, the plants or animals you encounter, and the way you feel.
23. Wednesday: Drop Everything and Read! In honor of World Book Day, spend time reading. Visit your local library, pull a forgotten book off your shelf, or treat yourself to something new.
24. Thursday: Create a System of Support. Courage without support leads to burnout. Set up a routine or accountability check that will help you keep showing up, and help you remain consistent in the habits you are forming. Think: a calendar reminder, a check-in text with a friend, or a support group.
25. Friday: Revisit Your April Focus. Remember the area of focus you set at the start of the month? How has it unfolded? Reflect without judgement. Adjust without shame. Where have you succeeded, and where has been less successful? What can you do to be more successful in that area?
26. Saturday: Take a Rest Day. Action isn’t about being full-throttle all the time. It’s also about resting so that you have the energy to continue long-term. Today, don’t overbook yourself. Pause on purpose.
Week 5: April 27 - 30
Theme: Celebrate Your Wins
Affirmation:I celebrate the small victories that lead me closer to my dreams.
“The world has caught up with me and I’m a living witness that dreams do come true, even if they aren’t the ones you start out with.”
~Billy Porter
27. Sunday: Photograph Your Gratitudes. Take three images of things you are grateful for. These could be small, like your morning cup of coffee, or of more importance to you, like a person in your life. You may even want to capture a way you made progress this month. Keep these in your camera roll or print them out to remind you to engage in gratitude when you come across them.
28. Monday: Refresh or Make a Playlist. Spend some time working on a playlist that reflects how you want to feel moving forward. Music is a great motivator and uplifter!
29. Tuesday: Create a Visual Reminder. Write on a sticky note one word that has meaning to you regarding an intention, habit, or form of growth you want to carry with you into May. Put this somewhere visible and let it be a reminder to yourself whenever you see it.
30. Wednesday: Make a Mocktail. Celebrate your April journey and a close to the month by making a mocktail! Check out our instagram for recipes and inspiration.
